Forget-me-nots, he loves me not,
blooming blue on the highest hill.
The wishing stars shine,
on the coldest winter nights
perfect for when he loves me.
Merry Christmas gifts, the many what-ifs,
unwrapped, untied, unwanted,
untangled knots, he loves me not,
resolutely, and absolutely.
The season's cheer, to be held dear,
endless lights above me, he loves me.
Good nights are long, the days forgone
like withering petals in the fall,
another year for another forgot,
the game ends, he loves me not.
