Perhaps the tiny fairy lights
hanging in the dark
I admired for years and years,
and cold distant stars
shivering through the night
I silently prayed to,
and fading taillights
disappearing over the horizon
I watched in flushed frustration
have all converged
to take the form
of you.
You, the soft sunrise that fills the world,
you, the first clear day after a storm,
you, the gentle glow of surprise birthday cakes,
you, the beams of searchlights on someone finally found.
Finally, finally,
you found me.
And you blind me.
